Operations: production orders, scrap, and returns
The operations stage is the heart of the system, where actual manufacturing tasks are executed and the related accounting data is recorded.
Production orders These are the official instructions given to the production department, specifying: what will be produced? in what quantities? when? and with what resources? They are the starting point for any production cycle.
Scrap calculation Scrap refers to losses that occur during production due to material defects, work errors, or damage resulting from machine failures. The system requires recording these losses to determine the actual cost accurately.
Production returns This is the process of returning defective finished products to the production department for processing or replacement, and it includes identifying the cause of the defect and making the necessary adjustments or replacing the product.
Production operation stages • Initial stage: Starting the manufacture of products • Intermediate stage: Components that require additional processing or assembly • Final stage: Completing the product and inspecting it before shipping or sale
